Palmazul Hotel & Spa. Our History

For many Ecuadorians, San Clemente was a small fishing town on the southern coast of Ecuador. However, this began to change since February 2008 when Palmazul Artisan Designed Hotel and Spa opened its doors putting this destination on the Ecuadorian Tourism Map.

 

Designed by the engineer, Julio Meza and decorated by Mrs. Jessica Meza, this project was begun in the year 2000, when the Norwegian businessman, Kjetil Haugan bought the land where the hotel is presently located after various trips through the Ecuadorian coast, looking for an adequate beach for his new idea, a unique hotel of international quality.

 

The beautiful San Clemente Beaches captivated Kjetil, because of their natural beauty and the tranquility they offer to those who visit.

 

Kjetil defines San Clemente as the “best kept secret in Ecuador” and hundreds of comments from people all over the world confirm it by praising the excellent service of the hotel, the tranquility of the town, and the natural beauty of the area.
